Eyam Jazz Festival

The small Derbyshire village of Eyam has hosted an international jazz festival since the early 1990s, which brings thousands of visitors to listen to all kinds of jazz in the pubs and halls of the village. Organisers say there's no reason towns and cities should get all the best cultural events. "It's said that music appeals to the soul through its rhythms," said one local jazz enthusiast,"and country people are more attuned to the rhythms of the land and seasons."
